Transitioning to Fall

I feel like every style magazine I read, every email I receive or shopping site I hit currently has this term – “Transitioning to Fall.” So, what does it mean, exactly? It means how do you un-abruptly turn in your strappy tank tops, linen slacks, and flowy silk maxi dresses for attire that is appropriate for the changing weather. For me, living in Florida where we don’t even sniff Fall until mid-October, it is all about color. I can still wear my go-to silk or cotton blend midi dress, but I pick different colors – maize yellow, acorn brown, merlot red, midnight blue and barely-there beige are my go-to’s. My open toe sandals typically stay in the forefront of my closet for a while, but for those who are starting to feel a slight nip in the air, a great trending transition accessory is the ballerina flat. And as we all approach cooler evenings, I love a rich, light cashmere sweater or light leather bomber jacket that can start over your shoulders and become part of your look throughout the night.
