Event dressing can be intimidating. The amount of times a friend has asked me “I am going to fill the blank, what do I wear?” My answer is never the same, but I always go with making a statement. If it’s a wedding, you can be the guest that stands out without overruling the bride. A work function, you can own it and be the “talk” without being the “talk.” A Black-Tie Gala, you can be the one turning heads. I always say branch out a hare by choosing a new or different designer. Or, spice up your go-to LBD with an original accessory – diamond hair clip, feather trimmed gloves, or a metal belt. My only rule of thumb – Never show skin in too many places (think – work one asset, like legs or shoulders, but never all at once) and, when in doubt, step up your accessories. And ALWAYS wear a smile.
